Prologue
A pale gray cat padded through the brush. Its blue green eyes glowed in the moonlight. The cat crouch as if to spring. It was no surprise when a mouse darted out from under a birch tree. The cat leaped, pinning the small brown mouse to the ground. Before the cat could swip its massive claws through the mouse's neck a cat padded out behind the first. The massive pale gray cat turned looking at the new comer. "I thought you would be coming, Darkenedheart." first cat growled slowly. The cat named Darkenedheart sat down licking his large paw. Between licks Darkenedheart mew, "There will be no time for fun and games, Echostar." Echostar looked surprised. "I never.." He was cut off. "Echostar, something terrible is going to happen. Doom forseen by StarClan. "
Darkenedheart started pacing up and down the clearing. Echostar replied with a shuddering mew, "How can this be?" The black tom stopped in his tracks. Looking up he mew, "let me give the prophecy now. Snow will fly and barely come back, others will travel with her. Mint will go farther by a warrior you cannot trust. All will end with death. There I might be able to give you a clearer sign than that later." Darkenedheart started to fade away into the darkness.
Snow will fly and barely come back. Echostar paced inside his den. Others will travel with her?He stopped pacing. Mint will go father by a warrior you cannot trust? Echostar shook his head. "Snow must mean Snowpaw, and Mint must mean Mintypaw." He thought the last part of the prophecy again. All will end with death Echostar mew to himself, "That means cats are going to die."
